Zulkifli Salleh who is a major in Documentary Directing, is a filmmaker who believes in creating moving images that convey meaningful stories of life. He strives to tell his stories in visually appealing ways assembled together with appropriate sound to enhance the intended mood.
Before pursuing his BA(Hons) at The Puttnam School of Film, he graduated with a Diploma in Moving Images from Temasek Polytechnic. His short film, Impian Si Mamat (2008) was awarded the Panasonic Asia Pacific Special Industry Prize for the Most Outstanding High Definition Production. He was also awarded the Media Development Authority Gold Course Award during his diploma education. Among various other awards, he was awarded the Future Leaders Scholarship in 2012 to pursue his BA(Hons) Film education at LASALLE College of the Arts and in 2013 he received the Goh Chok Tong Youth Promise Award. His media experiences include design and video productions for clients such as Housing Development Board, People's Association, Esplanade Theatre and Singapore University of Technology and Design.
As a filmmaker, Zul aims to create stories that inspire and provide meaningful lessons to a larger audience. His student films such as Keesokan Hari, Can! and Journey Home explores themes of pursuing one's dreams and filial piety. Through his documentaries and his current thesis film, My Culture, Zul hopes to feature subjects whose journey can be an inspiration to others. Zul looks forward to collaborating, sharing and learning from the industry in the near future.
