My final year project SENSISM is on a study of sensory stimulation as therapy for children suffering from autism. After exploring the tactile senses of autistic children I came up with a series or two books. These are simple books on animals one finds underwater and animals in parks. My main in tension was to get across to the children in a very direct, clear, simple yet effective way. I used texture, which proved to be appreciated by autistic children through my primary research and flat sold colours for my illustrations as well as the pages. I wanted the book to act as a sufficient object itself.
