Audience Development and Sustainability in Contemporary Dance: A Case Study on T.H.E Dance Company.

Thesis Abstract

Contemporary dance has been around in Singapore since the early 1990s, yet local contemporary dance companies have been facing an unstable audience base for a long time. This dissertation studies the dance companies' perspectives on the reception of contemporary dance in Singapore, and looks into the sustainability of an audience for the dance form, focusing on a case study of T.H.E. Dance Company, which is celebrating its seventh year in 2015.
This research will focus on T.H.E Dance Company’s marketing strategies and outreach programmes.
