May Ee is a Singapore-born designer specialising in textile design. She is known for clean-cut silhouettes and vibrant prints. LED lights and fibre optics are often applied in her collections, bridging together fashion and electronic technology. She graduated from Lasalle College of the Arts in Singapore in 2015 after completing her BA (Hons) in Fashion Design and Textiles. She has completed internships with Preen by Thornton Bregazzi and Mirjam Rouden Textile Studios in London, UK in 2014 and 2013 respectively. Designing a collection requires knowledge and exposure to a variety of disciplines, opening up the creative process to other fascinating possibilities. During research, serendipity could trigger areas of interests previously unknown, enriching the design development. Being able to reach out to people emotionally through her textile prints and manipulation of wearable technology is an essential factor. The core themes in her collections are usually connected to her personal beliefs.
