Nigel's musical journey began when he started piano lessons at the age of seven. Inspired and mesmerised by the music of Mozart and Chopin, he would spend hours practising on the piano. In 2008, Nigel attained his Licentiate of Trinity College London (L.T.C.L) diploma in piano performance. By 2009, he had grown increasingly interested in progressive rock music and the use of synthesizers, and decided to break out of the classical music realm. He took part in two band competitions in 2010 and was placed in the top three positions for both. Nigel graduated from LASALLE College of the Arts with a Diploma in Music (Classical Performance) in 2011 and returned to pursue a BA(Hons) music degree in popular music. As a keyboardist trained in classical music, Nigel finds inspiration from keyboardists with similar backgrounds such as Jon Lord, Rick Wakeman, and Jordan Rudess. Nigel currently plays keyboards for Moodique, the resident band at Long Bar at the Raffles Hotel. The band plays seven nights a week, covering popular hits from the past and present.
